Guitar Hero World Tour wireless guitar (Xbox 360) — corroded battery contacts fixed after a careful full disassembly to reach the battery box, so the controller powers on and plays again.

“Took two Guitar Hero guitars that had battery leak and weren't working. Tried to fix it myself and almost did more damage than good to it! Found the Toy Doctor and glad I did!! She was able to assess, quote and repair it within 1 week! If you have broken toys you want brought back to life, I highly recommend contacting her.”

The repair

This Red Octane Guitar Hero World Tour wireless guitar would not power on reliably — the fault traced to poor contact at the battery terminals. Reaching the battery compartment meant a full disassembly of the guitar shell, which is fiddly on this model. We cleaned and rebuilt the contacts, reassembled the neck and body, and confirmed stable power for play.

About this item

Red Octane wireless Guitar Hero World Tour guitar controller for Microsoft Xbox 360 (model 95457. 805; sunburst red-to-black finish, white pickguard). Five coloured fret buttons, a touch-sensitive neck slider strip, strum bar, whammy bar, Star Power control, and Xbox guide-compatible pad cluster. 4 GHz wireless link to a USB receiver dongle (not always in the project folder). Red Octane built the hardware in the Activision publishing era. This is a game controller, not a preschool toy—battery contacts and switch repair are the usual workshop tasks.
