Hamish yellow teddy — full restoration after decades of love
Hamish yellow teddy bear
Hamish is a decades-old yellow teddy that needed more than a surface wash — decomposed stuffing, dull eyes, and holes through the mohair-style pile. We ran a full restoration: deep clean, new fill, polished eyes, and fabric repairs throughout.
“The toy doctor did flawlessly. Our several decade old bear was in a bad shape so we mailed it to the toy doc to see what would happen. Our bear was very quickly returned to its former glory and mailed back to us in no time. Extremely professional service.”

The repair
Hamish arrived as a full restoration job: the old stuffing had broken down inside the body, the pile was soiled, the eyes had dulled with age, and there were holes and tears that would have let new fill leak straight back out. We opened the bear for a deep clean, removed and replaced the decomposed stuffing, polished and reset the eyes, and worked through hole and tear repairs in the outer fabric. Fresh fill and careful closing brought the teddy back to a stable display weight and a familiar hug shape.
About this item
Hamish yellow teddy bear is a classic named gift-teddy format, usually sold through card shops, florists, and boutique toy outlets from the 1990s onward. Named bears often come from small-run plush distributors where the character name helps differentiate otherwise similar body patterns. Typical materials are polyester plush, polyester fill, and plastic safety eyes or embroidered details depending on age grading.
