Kitchen witch — new shoes, broom, and a hang-up hook
Kitchen witch on broomstick
A kitchen witch wall doll arrived with tired shoes and broom wear — we remade the footwear and broom, trimmed the costume neatly, and added a hair hook so she hangs securely again.
Work in progress
The repair
The witch’s original shoes and broom had worn out after years as a hanging decoration. We remade both so the figure stands and rides the broom convincingly again. Costume edges were tidied with careful trimming and stitching. We also added a secure attachment hook in the hair so the piece can hang upright without stressing the fabric.
About this item
Kitchen witch on broomstick figures are folk-decor collectibles associated with European-inspired kitchen good-luck traditions, widely sold in craft and gift markets from the 1960s onward. They are decorative hangers rather than mainstream play toys. Construction usually combines cloth costume elements, soft stuffing, yarn hair, and a wire or wood support around the broom form. Handmade provenance or older regional craft labels on the tag help place the piece in a tradition or workshop.
