Tonka Chuck trucks — corrosion cleanup, gearbox, and plastic rebuild
Tonka Chuck and Friends trucks
These Tonka Chuck and Friends trucks had sat in storage with dead batteries — we cleared board corrosion, renewed wiring, rebuilt the gearbox, and repaired broken plastic parts so the cars drive again.
“My sons favourite toy as a child had been packed up for about 10 years and when we pulled out for his 17th, the batteries in the little cars had corroded most of the inner workings and motors ceased. Grace took on the challenge and got them working again. Highly recommend.”
Work in progress
The repair
Battery leakage had corroded the circuit boards and wiring inside the vehicles. We cleaned the boards, replaced damaged conductors, and restored reliable power to the motors and any sound or light features. The gearbox needed mechanical work — a complex job with broken plastic gears and housings that had to be rebuilt or replaced so drive reaches the wheels again. After reassembly the trucks run for play as they did when they were new.
