Pastel narwhal plush pair — repair

Pastel narwhal plush pair - deep clean and eye replacement

Pastel narwhal plush pair

Needlework

25 June 2026

A pastel narwhal plush pair came in for a gentle deep clean and eye replacement. We cleaned the soft pile, opened the seams for access, replaced the damaged or missing safety eyes, and closed the plush neatly so both narwhals were ready for cuddles again.

The repair

The narwhals needed both cleaning and eye work. We deep cleaned the pastel pile carefully so the colours stayed soft, then opened the appropriate seams to access the eye positions from inside the plush. New eyes were fitted securely, the seams were stitched closed, and the pile was brushed back into place around the repair areas so the faces looked balanced again.

About this item

Pastel narwhal plush toys are part of the modern sea-creature plush trend, usually made with soft short-pile polyester fabric, embroidered mouth details, plastic safety eyes, small fins, and a fabric spiral horn. They are often sold as gift plush, nursery decor, or small character companions rather than as one fixed licensed product. The eyes on this type of plush are usually two-part safety eyes installed through the fabric before stuffing, with a washer locked onto the post inside the head. When an eye is lost or damaged after manufacture, repair normally requires opening a seam, working from inside the plush, replacing the eye hardware, and then closing the seam cleanly.
