CoComelon Musical Learning Bus

2 September 2026

This CoComelon Musical Learning Bus had a badly corroded battery box. We disassembled the shell, disconnected the battery wiring, removed the contacts, soaked the rust overnight in vinegar, cleaned them free of corrosion, and reassembled so power works again.

The repair

The Learning Bus arrived with heavy battery corrosion — rusted contacts and a ruined cell in the battery box. We disassembled the yellow shell from the grey chassis, disconnected the wires from the battery box, removed the battery contacts, and soaked them overnight in vinegar to lift the rust. Once the contacts were free of corrosion, we cleaned and dried the compartment, reconnected the wiring, and reassembled the bus so the electronics can power up again.

About this item

The CoComelon Musical Learning Bus is an early-learning school-bus toy from Just Play under the CoComelon / Moonbug licence. Typical features are a yellow plastic body with a green carry handle, light-up shape buttons on the roof, a full A–Z letter pad and 0–9 number row on the side, and modes for Letters, Sounds, Words, and Numbers — often with character art of JJ and friends and songs such as the ABCs and Wheels on the Bus. This example’s underside marks it © 2021 Moonbug Entertainment, produced by Just Play, LLC, Made in China (batch code visible in the photos). It runs on AA batteries in a compartment under the chassis. Aimed at toddlers roughly 18 months and up for on-the-go letter and number play.
