Tan floppy cream-paw dog plush — repair

Floppy tan dog — deep clean, restuff, and seam repair

Tan floppy cream-paw dog plush

Needlework

31 August 2026

This well-loved tan floppy dog had a split along the back seam with stuffing pushing out and pile that needed more than a surface wash. We deep cleaned the fur, patched minor wear, replaced the fill, and stitched the back closed so he lies plump and cuddly again.

The repair

The dog arrived flat and grubby after years of cuddling, with a torn section along the back seam where old stuffing was bulging out. We deep cleaned the pile so the tan and cream fabrics came up brighter, removed the tired fill, and restuffed the body for an even lying profile. Minor wear at the torn seam was closed with neat needlework so the back holds together under play. Ears, muzzle, and paw pads were cleaned in place; no eyes or nose needed replacing. He went home soft, plump, and ready to lie across a bed or sofa again.

About this item

Tan and cream floppy-eared dog plush in a lying pose — shaggy medium-brown polyester pile on the body, head, and long ears, with smoother cream velour on the muzzle and oval paw-pad patches on the feet. Small black bead eyes and a dark brown fabric nose; soft fiberfill throughout with no electronics or internal frame. The silhouette matches the generic gift-plush puppy and basset-style dogs common in department-store, pharmacy, and florist lines from the 1990s through the 2000s (Russ, Aurora, Animal Adventure, and similar makers all produced comparable tan-and-cream lying dogs). No tush tag is visible in the photos, so the exact brand is unconfirmed — identification rests on the long floppy ears, cream muzzle, and padded foot patches rather than a licensed character mould.
